    Aug 3, 15:00 - 16:00 (PT)
Change Makers in Action is a captivating new virtual event series for families that highlights the incredible journeys of Davidson Ambassadors who have completed our training program and are now driving meaningful change in their communities. Through engaging interviews, these Ambassadors share their personal stories of inspiration—how they came up with their project ideas, the steps they took to bring them to life, the impact they’ve made, and their goals for the future. This series aims to inspire and motivate the audience, showcasing how dedication, creativity, and a commitment to giving back can lead to transformative change. If you’re a student or a parent looking to make a difference, Changemakers in Action will leave you feeling empowered to take the first steps toward becoming a changemaker in your own right! This Changemakers in Action event features Gavin H. and Gavin A.! Gavin A. Bio: I love to be out in nature, because it’s so peaceful, and motivating. I want to spread the word about dangers to ecosystems, which is why I take self-paced STEM courses to learn skills like web design and programming, and speech classes to help convey my point as efficiently as possible! Gavin H. Bio: Gavin H is a middle school student from California and a Davidson Young Scholar Ambassador. He believes in the power of small actions to make big changes. Through his initiative Ride to Thrive, he hopes to get as many bikes as possible into the hands of those in need, especially children. He has organized several bike collection drives, including at his school and at Scouting events. To date, he has collected and helped repair dozens of bicycles and scooters to be distributed to the unhoused and through a school-based program in San Jose. He is grateful to the Davidson Young Scholar Ambassador Program for the training he has received to help grow his efforts and make an even bigger impact. Gavin's activism stems from his own love of biking and the sense of freedom and independence that it gives him. His favorite place that he has biked is around Yosemite Valley. In addition to biking, Gavin loves to play flag football and basketball and play guitar in his rock band. Please REGISTER to save a seat! This session is 60 minutes and can be attended as a family.
